The wide trail to the beach was sandwiched between a dense mix of vegetation that included what looked like mangrove and an array of beautiful local flowers. The thick foliage captured my attention and my eyes darted from side to side marveling at the plants. Nearing the end of the trail, I looked in front of me and caught a glimpse of the Marianne beach. I smiled and the wind blew as if to greet me. “Welcome to paradise,” it whispered. So true! I feel that in order for one to have a good life, one must learn to balance living in the present/ in the moment/ in the now with planning for/ looking towards the future (especially if you have aspirations). Sometimes we forget to appreciate the now in constant quest for improvement and a better future. Nice quote. Made me slow down in the now and think for a moment about how I can manage this balance better.
